The Psych Rehab Program is hirng part-time for it''s site based program located in Hellertown and the mobile piece in Lehigh County. The program provides recovery based approach to skills teaching for independent living to adults with a mental health diagnosis.

Applicant must have a Bachelor''s degree in a human service field, valid driver''s license, the ability to work evening and weekends. Direct care experience is a plus.

Residential Counselors: (various positions available) This position provides direct client services including encouraging client independence in areas such as skills in daily living and community integration.  The qualified candidate shall possess:  HS + 1 year related experience or AA; valid drivers’ license; advanced fluency in ASL; minimum of 2 years experience with Deaf Community; demonstrated competency in independent living skills; ability to teach, advise and motivate Deaf Consumers; strong interpersonal skills.  Responsibilities: Provide supported living and training to Deaf consumers with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities living in the community; promote consumers’ independence and social relationships. Positions open for weekend and evening shifts.

Assistant Operations Director – (Full Time) - This is a senior level management position

Responsibilities: assist Operations Director with the day to day functions of supervision and oversight of the Residential Department including, but not limited to: provide direct services to consumers, maintain all licensing regulations, oversee program budgets, supervise and provide daily support to a large number of direct care staff and management level employees, maintain communication and relationships with outside service providers and families, involvement with the clinical team, completion of monthly and residential reports, participate on agency committees.  

Qualifications: experience working with consumers with behavioral health disorders and/or mental retardation, BA degree in Human Services with 2 years of supervisory experience OR AA degree with emphasis in Human Services with 5 years of related experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.  Candidate must have strong leadership, administrative and communication skills, both in person and in writing.

Outpatient Therapist – (Full Time) – This position provides clinical services to individuals (both children and adults) and families presenting with a range of needs and strengths. 

Responsibilities:  Assessment and intervention for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals, families and groups, utilizing a variety of communication modalities to accommodate the need.  Paperwork such as psychosocial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, etc. are also part of the job function.

Qualifications: Masters in Social Work or Counseling; license eligible in the state of Pennsylvania.  ASL fluency and Deaf culture sensitivity; knowledge of the impact of hearing loss on behavioral health disorders, assistive technology and needs of persons who are hard of hearing.

Case Manager: (Full time position) This position provides resources and support to clients and their families who reside in the community. The qualified candidate shall possess: BA/BS degree in a Human Services field preferred; or High school diploma & 12 credit hours in social science with 2 years mental health direct care experience. Must have strong organizational skills; fluency in ASL, familiarity with other visual communication modes and language levels. Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends as needed and travel various areas in the community. Knowledge of laws governing the rights of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals including IDEA and ADA a plus; and must have a valid driver’s license.  Responsibilities:  Assess service needs of consumers, both adults and children, to insure continuum of care; develop service plans; independent living skills instructions, advocate for access to public & private services and programs such as medical, vocational and other services.

Therapist/Psychosocial Rehabilitation Counselor: (Full time position) This position provides therapeutic and psycho-educational workshops and group sessions for consumers who are deaf. The qualified candidate shall possess: BA in psychology, counseling or any other human services fields; must have 2 years experience with individuals with mental illness and/or mental retardation including treatment planning and progress notes; advanced fluency in ASL required; must be innovative, creative and be able to work in a team environment.  Responsibilities: Develop, coordinate and provide group/individual therapy for wellness maintenance and psycho-educational workshops.

• A four year degree from an accredited college or university with a Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certificate OR a four year degree from an accredited college or university with submission of documented evidence of successful completion of 24 semester hours in the theory of special education selected from those listed in the certification requirements for education teachers by the Pennsylvania Department of Education with the mandatory distribution of courses. 
•  A minimum of two years experience working with children with behavior/learning disorders and one year experience implementing behavior management programs is required.
• Autism experience is a plus.
